![]() I have visited several sites, including those of the manufacturer (Qstarz) and the European representative (Variotek), to gather information. I was looking for an accurate GPS logger to be able to see the routes of my cycling trips afterwards. In short, not the cheapest, but definitely worth the money.įirst experiences with the BT-Q1000XT Travel Recorder I mainly use it with a foolography bluetooth GPS receiver for a Nikon camera - and it works flawlessly for geotagging. Is also not excessively lost (I lost a previous one.). It is important to scan the manual before using it (in a first trip it didn't log anything - my mistake!). It also allows some configuration of the GPS. The included software is quite complete, is not 100% bug-free, but certainly works satisfactorily (including the ability to map tracks, in time, distance, and even altitude. I can evaluate the sensitivity less, but it is certainly not on the low side (also indoors). I don't know how long it works, but at least more than 12 hours. The battery is a small rechargeable LiOn (included) thing. The capacity is more than sufficient (10 to 15 days in normal use (full day), I think. It can either only send the position via bluetooth, or that and log. As for the GPS fix: usually 10-15s cold start and often only a few (literally 1 to 3) seconds when it has lost the satellites for a while. I see two clear advantages to this device: it finds a GPS fix very quickly and it contains a virtually unlimited logger of your position. Software not 100% stable (but definitely OK)
